Established in 2018, 1816 Bakehouse is an artisan sourdough bakery in the heart of Ballarat. Our team, led by head baker Josh Chapman, is proud to bring our range of sourdough breads and house made pastries, hand made pies and freshly filled sandwiches to the Ballarat community. All of our products are made in-house at our bakery, café and retail space in Armstrong Street North. Family owned, family run. Mrs Baker’s Still House is located at Wimmera Hills Winery; where Jane and Benjamin Baker planted a vineyard and raised their kids on the farm. In 2016 they delved into their next adventure, the distillation of gins and liqueurs.

Many of the botanicals used in the gins are grown in Mrs Baker’s gin garden.

Amongst the breathtaking landscape of the Pyrenees Ranges is the scenic and peaceful Summerfield Wines, where the family history is as rich as the majestic vines that flourish and grow on the site. Ian Summerfield planted the first 10 acres of Shiraz vines in 1970, and from there, his deep and underlying passion for winemaking took off and Summerfield Wines was established.

St Ignatius Vineyard is a stop unlike any other in the Pyrenees. An authentic family vineyard with a range of exotic, handcrafted wines, including Torrontes and Malbec. The cellar door is open for an exclusive one-on-one tasting on weekends and public holidays. Weekdays by prior arrangement. A visit to St Ignatius Vineyard will warm your soul.

Our 150 year old former produce store, tentmakers, and motor workshop is now a showcase for our wines, and other treasures of our region, providing the full wine bar, dining experience and event space right in the heart of Ballarat.
