Rachel Yeo, a passionate Smeaton farmer and hospitality expert with over 30 years of experience, founded Happy Scraps with one clear mission: to turn potential food waste into delicious, affordable meals for families and communities. Driven by her deep love for the environment and her commitment to sustainability, Rachel has dedicated herself to finding innovative ways to reduce waste, support local farmers, and inspire healthier eating habits. Through initiatives like Scraps-to-Table, The Happy Plates Project, and Scraps Packs, Rachel is transforming the way we think about food—one meal at a time.
Village Dreaming
I am a grower and cooking teacher. I teach rare trade skills through my farm ORTO. Wild yeasted bread making skills, pasta making skills, salami, fermenting, food preserving, foraging and wild edible fungi identification skills. I run chestnut and garlic harvesting sagras and tours of our farm. We are an agritourism property with a farm stay and run private and public cooking classes
Meredith Farm Produce
Meredith Farm Produce has been created to promote and sell produce from the Meredith Dairy Farm. A shop & cafe "Meredith Farm Produce", has been purchased to showcase and retail the farm produce. The venue can seat 30 indoors and 30 outdoor (not under cover). A kitchen garden and commercial kitchen compliment the theme for a Paddock to Plate experience.
Grampians Estate
Boutique winery based in the Grampians with a vineyard and winery at Mafeking and a vineyard and cellar door on the highway at Great Western. First vintage 1995. Oldest vines at Great Western were planted in 1878.
