Pomonal Estate

Located in the picturesque village of Pomonal, Victoria, Pomonal Estate is a newly established haven for wine, microbrews, and cider. Situated just 10 minutes from Halls Gap and nestled against the Grampians National Park, this family-run business, led by Adam and Pep, takes pride in crafting exquisite Grampians regional wines, a delightful range of small-batch locally brewed beers and ciders, all while championing and supporting the best of local produce at their Café and Cellar Door.

Their journey began in 2014 when the opportunity to build their dream venture arose. While exploring 23 wineries for sale in Victoria and New South Wales, Adam ventured into brewing beers, which quickly gained recognition at the local Pomonal Market. This momentum led them to set up their Cellar Door with a commitment to sustainability by using recycled and locally sourced materials, including Redgum posts from the old Seppelts Great Western train station, as well as beautifully crafted red gum and hardwood elements from Pomonal.

In August 2017, Adam and Pep planted their 3-acre vineyard, featuring Shiraz and Riesling grapes, alongside a Cider Orchard. They eagerly anticipated their first vineyard production in 2021, with Mt Langi Ghiran and Leigh Clarnette from Clarnette & Ludgvisen overseeing the winemaking and Harcourt Cider managing the cider production.

Their dedication to excellence has been recognized in 2019, 2021 & 2022 when they proudly won the “Business of the Year Award,” and a Bronze Award at the Victorian Wine Show for their 2018 Sparkling Riesling.

Adam and Pep’s commitment to supporting the local community shines through in their sourcing of local food for their menu, showcasing and selling local artworks, hosting live performances by local musicians, and providing employment opportunities for the locals. Their journey has been filled with excitement and challenges, and their establishment has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering the finest produce from the Grampians region and a relaxing venue for people to unwind, connect with loved ones, and savour some quality time.
