An Insight into the Right to Disconnect

  • Online, link provided after registration 119 Lydiard Street North Ballarat Central, VIC, 3350 Australia (map)

New legislation changes have created a new obligation: The Right to Disconnect. The new law, enumerated by The Fair Work Commission in all Modern Awards, allows employees to ignore work-related communication after hours without fear of reproach and reprimand. This legislation currently applies to big business and small businesses from August next year.

The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) is sending an open invitation to attend a free information session and discussion on this latest change to workplace law. The discussion will be facilitated by Daniel Murray (Principal Advisor & Legal Practitioner Director) alongside Isleana Judge (Lawyer). It will take place on November 11 at 11am, inclusive of a moment of silence for Remembrance Day.

This briefing will contain key takeaways from the new laws, as well as the implications moving forward, and strategies to integrate this change into current business models. The briefing will include an opportunity to ask questions.

The event will be held online, and also in-person. The event is formed around an interactive core, so places are limited.
